Transparent PNG from a PDF Page
The white you see on a PDF page is usually not a white background — it is simply unmarked paper. Switch off the white fill and the PNG comes out with a real alpha channel, opaque only where there is ink.
That makes it straightforward to drop a flowchart, org chart, logo sheet or signed signature block onto a coloured slide, a letterhead or a dark-mode document without a white rectangle around it. Most converters flatten to white and give you no say.

Why choose PNG over JPG for a PDF?
Because PNG is lossless. A PDF page is usually mostly text and vector graphics, which is exactly the content JPG handles worst and PNG handles perfectly.
Can the PNG have a transparent background?
